What is nightcore?
Nightcore is a remix style that plays a song faster so its pitch rises with it, like a record spun too fast. The name comes from a Norwegian duo who sped up trance and eurodance tracks in the early 2000s.

Frequently asked questions
Open the song in the nightcore maker above. It starts at 1.25x speed with the pitch raised to match, the classic nightcore sound. Press play to hear it, move Speed if you want it lighter or faster, then choose MP3 or WAV and press Save.
Most nightcore uses 1.20x to 1.30x speed, and 1.25x is the classic choice. Because the pitch follows the speed, 1.25x raises every note by 3.86 semitones, a little under a major third, so a song in C major ends up close to E major. A 120 BPM song becomes 150 BPM.
Both are faster versions of a song. Nightcore usually runs at 1.25x or more with a clearly higher voice, while sped up versions are often a lighter 1.10x to 1.20x. Use the Light preset for a sped up sound, or turn off Follow speed and set Pitch to 0 to make a song faster in its original key.
Yes. Turn off Follow speed and set Pitch to 0, and the song plays faster in its original key. With Follow speed off you can choose any pitch from −12 to +12 semitones.
Playing a recording faster makes every sound wave repeat more often, which we hear as a higher pitch, like a record or tape spun too fast. Nightcore keeps that effect on purpose. With Follow speed on, the pitch rises exactly as much as it would on a faster record.
Yes. The length is divided by the speed: at 1.25x a 4:00 song lasts 3:12, and at 1.50x it lasts 2:40. The new length shows next to the original before you save.
